A walk in nature, a good ski, a day at the thermal baths. No matter what you choose to do, Bormio means only one thing: well-being.
Bormio is a unique tourist resort, and it has the extraordinary characteristic of offering an incredible variety of activities. The first thing that will take your breath away is undoubtedly the landscape: white expanses of snow during the winter, bright green meadows during the summer, and an extraordinarily blue sky make the landscape alive and exciting. These features alone would be reason enough to choose the Magnificent Land as your holiday destination, but we would like to show you all the alternatives you will have when staying here.
Bormio in winter
Bormio is skiing. Alpine skiing, without a doubt, but also cross-country skiing and ski mountaineering. You can decide to enjoy the descent on Bormio's sunny slopes in the company of your family or friends. It is on these slopes, which have often been the scene of great competitions, that you will find several ski schools that will introduce you to this fun sport! Ski mountaineering, on the other hand, is ideal for those who, in addition to the descent, love the feeling of fatigue, that of the ascent with sealskins. This sport will allow you to reach places characterised by enchanting landscapes, where all the beauty that surrounds you will make you forget all other thoughts. Those who love walking in the mountains can also opt for snowshoes: there are many trails and paths dedicated to trekking, both in Bormio and in the surrounding areas, you will be spoilt for choice! The Alute area offers a fantastic cross-country skiing track, a sport that can be practised at a competitive level, and at the same time is an excellent idea as a first approach to skiing, to "get familiar" with snow. Fat bike is a novelty in recent years, which cycling enthusiasts are literally crazy about! Would you like to ride the snowy trails on two wheels, even in winter? Last but not least, we cannot forget the Palaghiaccio (ice rink). Over the years, the facility has hosted numerous short track competitions. Both the large rink and the skate rental are available to those who want to spend a different day/evening during their holiday!
Bormio in summer
Sport, sport, and more sport. If you are looking for an active holiday, Bormio will not disappoint. Just like winter, summer is also full of experiences to enjoy. There are plenty of trekking trails to suit different needs and levels of fitness: you will find both flat and challenging trails, and, why not, some hikes to be tackled only if accompanied by Alpine Guides. In addition to trekking, Bormio is a real dream for mountain bikers, who will find exciting routes and wonderful destinations here. There are numerous animal and plant species that you can spot during your outings in the Stelvio National Park: sharpen your eyesight and you will take home some beautiful shots!
The thermal baths of Bormio
After all this sport, a little relaxation is a must. Bormio Terme is the thermal centre located right in the centre of the town. The pools, the wellness area and the numerous treatments and services on offer are a guarantee of quality. Even at the Bagni Nuovi and Bagni Vecchi, not far from the centre, you are sure to be cuddled in the best possible way, with wellness programmes that will make you regenerate and recharge your batteries.
Museums in Bormio
The more curious may decide to spend a rainy day at the City Museum, or, alternatively, at the Museum of Nature - Mineralogy, depending on their interests.
