Bormio and its surroundings

Nestled in a beautiful Alpine valley  1225 metres above sea level, Bormio is a charming small village,  known as the Magnificent Land.

Thanks to its hot waters and its modern ski area, Bormio is one of the most attractive Italian mountain resorts and a great year-round destination for mountain lovers.

Bormio's summer activities are endless. You can choose from easy strolls to more ambitious treks within  the Stelvio National Park. Alpine guides will lead you through the beautiful valleys of the Alta Valtellina region.

In summertime, Bormio turns into a biker's heaven. Miles of mountain bike trails stretch through breathtaking Alpine landscapes. If road cycling is more your thing, get ready to climb the legendary passes of Stelvio and Mortirolo.

Nordic walking, golf and duty-free shopping in the nearby village of Livigno are also a pleasant way to spend your summer days.

When snow falls, Bormio turns into a magical place. Everything from the mountain tops to the medievel town centre gets a white covering. The world-known ski area of Bormio offers a wide range of ski slopes suitable for all skiers, from beginners to experts, adults and children.

The after-ski activities are numerous. You can either relax in one of the local Spas or enjoy a night out with your friends, drinking wine and enjoying Italian food.

A trip to St. Moritz, the most glamorous town of the Alps, is highly recommended. The swiss town can be reached by means of the Bernina Express, now one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
